What is NAR?
The National Association of REALTORS® a.k.a NAR is an organization that is formed by real estate agents, REALTORS®, brokers, and other real estate professionals, according to Redfin. This organization started in 1908 and it currently represents over 1.4 million members. Every real estate agent must become a member of NAR before he/she gets a REALTORS® title.
Benefits of joining NAR
There are many benefits to joining the NAR. Some of these benefits include but not limited to having access to exclusive webinars where you learn about appraisal issues and participate in live discussions with other members on real estate topics.
Members can also publicize their businesses and get access to valuable resources that can help them build and grow their businesses, according to the Chicago REALTORS®. Furthermore, members receive discounts, educational material, free access to publications, etc.
How to join the National Association of REALTORS®
Before you become a member of the National Association of REALTORS®, you must become a member of your local REALTORS® association. As noted by the NAR, your membership with a local association will automatically make you a member of the NAR and state association.
